RCCC launched the "Clipper" - November 2018

Posted in: Hands-on Projects

On Saturday, November 17, 2018, Rotary Club of Carroll Creek launched its remodeled Carroll Creek Clipper!
For the next ten weeks, the "Clipper” will be anchored in Carroll Creek along with nine other holiday-decorated sailboats participating in the second annual Sailing through the Winter Solstice Festival (STTWS)
Founded by Doctor Pete Kremers and local craftsman extraordinaire Kyle Thomas, STTWS aims at beautifying Downtown Frederick, increasing pedestrian traffic in the winter months, and fundraising money for local charities, which have received over $20,000 last year.
This year, twelve sponsoring organizations display sailboats in a stunning variety of designs and colors, ten in Carroll Creek and two on land, and include the participating sponsors listed below along with the name of their respective sailboat:
-Berkheimer Group - Morgan Stanley (on land, on top of Brewers' Alley Restaurant) ("Betsy in Heavens")
-Capitol Women’s Care ("Phoenix")
-Ed and Vicki Poole & Thom and Teresa Beckley ("Snallygaster")
-Flying Dog Brewery (to be launched within 2 weeks) ("Snake Dog")
-Frederick Primary Care Associates ("Starry Night")
-Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund ("Hope Floats")
-Property Management People ("Spirit of Maryland")
-Rotary Club of Carroll Creek ("Carroll Creek Clipper")
-Sheila Thompson Family & Kevin and Jeannie Hessler / LSWG (on land, along Market Street) ("Puff")
-Stulz Air Technology ("Rickmer Rickmers Too")
-Tourism Council of Frederick County ("Welcome")
Many thanks to President Pete Fitzpatrick for enthusiastically supporting the remodeling of the “Clipper”, and special kudos to the crew for their time and great spirit throughout the renovation process, namely:
