Friendship Exchange - India

Posted in: International Service

A Friendship Exchange is a great way to Build Goodwill and Better Friendships as Rotarians.  It is Beneficial to All Concerned, and can be the start of lifetime international friendships.  RCCC has been invited by 3 different Rotary Clubs in 3 different parts of India to join in a Friendship Exchange.  You can participate by going and/or hosting guests when they come here.

  • Where:  Dehra Dun Club in Dehra Dun (Uttarakhand) in North India, Asansol Club in Asansol (West Bengal) near Kolkata, and Cuttack Silver City in Cuttack (Orissa) along the eastern coast of India
  • When:  About 12-14 days in October 2012 (dates flexible, we can select firm dates according to availability of those who are interested)   or   February 2013
  • Who:  Limited to 4-6 Rotarians.  Spouses are welcome!
  • What we need:  Passport, immunizations (hepatitis, adult polio booster, tetanus, typhoid and malaria)
  • Expected cost:  About $2500-$3000 (with economy air tickets).  This should include all air and ground transportation, visa, food and sightseeing (including the Taj Mahal!).  We will be staying in the homes of Rotarians in most cases.
  • Cris Rhyner will make all the arrangements, including visas, and organize the itinerary.

Hosting:  Dates not yet determined; this depends a lot on when the visitors can get their visas to visit the US.  (might be as little as 1-2 month's notice)  There is considerable interest in visiting during Fall, maybe during Oktoberfest!

Please reply to Cris if you are interested in more information about these exciting opportunities!
