RCCC members "Walked in her Shoes" for Heartly House!

Posted in: Community Service

On Saturday, October 11, 2014, several members of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek participated in the "Walk in her Shoes" walk, an annual awareness and fundraising event that takes place during Domestic Violence Awareness Month to benefit Heartly House.
Heartly House is a Frederick-based shelter for women and children, and provides comprehensive services for victims and survivors of domestic violence, rape/sexual assault, and child abuse.
Led by Frederick Mayor, Randy McClement, over 150 men literally walked one mile through downtown Frederick in women's shoes as they took a stand against violence toward women.
Bravo to Rotarian walkers Josh Bokee, Neil Fay, Bernard Gouin, Jason Lee, Mike Moore, Josh Pedersen, and to Rotarian spouse Ken Miller (Lisa Garrett)!
Kudos for the generosity of several Rotarian donors who, in addition to the Rotarian walkers mentioned above, include Josh Brook, Greg Light, and Jeff McEvoy!
Thanks to our chief organizer, Jason Lee!
Cheers to our daring walkers who survived the event without any foot injury!
Below are a few pictures of the crowd gathering for registration and of the Rotarian participants
