Global Outreach

RCCC realizes that, while our local community is Frederick, we must also serve our global community. Giving back should not be limited to our backyard while our international partners struggle to satisfy the basic needs we take for granted. Our club actively searches for and commits to long-term projects in our international committee to help satisfy those needs. We leverage our resources with that of The Rotary Foundation and other Rotary clubs to help make a difference worldwide.

The International committee offers grants for international projects targeted at one of the Rotary International (RI) Areas of Focus. LEARN MORE

Thailand Dental

Through a local non-profit organization here in Frederick, Yogamour Global, Dr. Mark Pitts and his wife, Shawn, have had the opportunity to visit an isolated elementary school in the Mae Taeng District of northern Thailand to provide dental care since 2013. With contacts in Chiang Mai, Thailand, who are doing volunteer work through Yogamour Global, small teams of volunteers have been assembled to visit an isolated mountain elementary school in the Mae Taeng District to provide basic dental care, cleanings, oral hygiene education, and palliative care, including dental extractions, to over 100 children (as well as some of their family members) and staff members at the school through the course of annual 5 or 6 day no-cost clinics. Thailand Dental has purchased portable dental equipment that is maintained in Thailand to allow for us to return easily and set up additional clinics, or would allow other volunteer dentists to provide care at the school. If a child needs treatment that Thailand Dental cannot provide in its portable clinic setting, the volunteers arrange for the patient to be seen at a dentist in the closest town, and then pay for all transportation and the cost of dental treatment.
