RCCC In Action
RCCC is actively engaged in projects within the Frederick community and throughout the world. In addition, we understand that the long- term vitality of our club rests with the next generation. As a result, our efforts and finances are focused into four core areas – programs, community service, international service and our youth.
Programs
Our weekly meetings include a presentation of general interest to the membership. While there are recurring programs that the club has committed to, such as Police Officer of the Month and Soldier of the Quarter, the remaining programs are typically topical in nature and provide insight into local, national and international events. Who says you can’t do good work and have fun? Our club meetings are lively and energetic and have more caffeine than a Starbucks coffee.

In Our Community
A community, defined in its simplest terms, is a group of people who have something in common. But in real life, it is something far more complex than that. Each member — every individual, group, organization, and business — draws benefits from the community in many different ways. For a community to thrive, each of its members must honor a commitment to contribute to the well-being of the whole by returning those benefits in kind.
Rotarians recognize the importance of giving back to the community. Community Service is one of the Avenues of Service (link to Avenues of Service). Every Rotary club and every Rotarian assumes a responsibility to find ways to improve the quality of life for those in their communities and to serve the public interest.
The Community Service Committee organizes and coordinates the club’s support of local service projects. Club support can be provided in two ways: financial and “hands-on” effort. In some cases our club performs the project entirely using club resources; in other cases the club supplements the efforts of other organizations. Projects may be proposed by the general public or by club members.
The committee has adopted guidelines which are used to evaluate potential projects. The guidelines include a list of objectives and attributes which the committee desires to obtain in the projects it supports. Download the funding guidelines.
Anyone wishing to apply for support of a project must complete a project request form. Download the Funding Request Application form.
Completed forms should be mailed to: Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, Community Service Committee, P.O. Box 39, Frederick, MD 21705.

Global Outreach
RCCC realizes that, while our local community is Frederick, we must also serve our global community. Giving back should not be limited to our backyard while our international partners struggle to satisfy the basic needs we take for granted. Our club actively searches for and commits to long- term projects in our international committee to help satisfy those needs. We leverage our resources with that of The Rotary Foundation and other Rotary clubs to help make a difference worldwide.

Future Rotarians
Rotary recognizes that Service Above Self is not limited to those who qualify for Rotary membership. In fact, if there is one demographic that demonstrates movement in numbers for a cause, it is our youth. Rotary has several ways for youths to engage in Rotarian activities –
- Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
- Rotoract
- Interact
- Rotary Youth Exchange
RCCC sponsors many such programs as well as others that promote Rotary to the next generation.
